Tackle Twill Desing, cut, zigzaging and embroidery

What is Tackle Twill?
Tackle Twill is a technique that uses numbers, letters or an image base shapes cut from polyester or nylon twill fabric. The tackle twill appliques are attached to the selected garment or banner with an adhesive backing that tacks them in place. The edges are then zigzag stitched and the border is then finished with satin-stitch embroidery of the same or a contrasting color.

Names or team logos sometimes use a tackle twill base with embroidered features. This combination reduces the number of embroidery stitches needed while creating a three-dimensional work of art.
